Gabal Asfar

Project Details

  • Project name: Gabal Asfar Stage III Emergency Pump Station of Capacity 1,3 Million M3/day
  •  Client name:  CAPW
  • Project Duration: 2017-2019
  • Team Members Involved in this project: All departments were involved: Hydraulic & process, electromechanical, structural, Arch. and administrations.

Project Highlights

This project includes design of lifting pump station of capacity 1,300,000 m3/day as well as the conveying canal 2.5 km at Gabal Asfar WWTP. The project aims at transferring the additional untreated wastewater from the main inlet chamber at Gabal WWTP to the new areas for treatment as well as an emergency outfall to Gaba Asfar Drain.

Key Project Issues

➢ Data collection, Master plan of the project, preliminary design, detailed design and tender document preparation

➢ Production of conceptual reports, design reports, updated master plan, screw pump station details, power supple station, transformers and open channel of 5.00 m width, 3 m depth and 2.5 km length with stepped out fall to Gabal Asfar Drain .

Introduction

Additional capacities are received at the inlet chamber of Gabal Asfar WWTP. The current capacity of treatment lines is 2.3 million m3/day while total received capacities are exceeding 3.7 million m3/day. The additional flow had to be transferred to the new location proposed for construction of Stage III with facility of emergency outfall to Gabal Asfar Drain.

Design/ Design review

Full design activities were carried out including surveying the existing layout, Data collection on operational parameters and Hydraulic design, preparation of design report, cost assessment, full design documents and specifications, BOQ in addition to full tender documents preparation as well as tender’s evaluation.

Construction Supervision

Supervision team of 6 Engineers covering different engineering specializations including project management, civil, mechanical, electrical, control and surveying. (24months).
